Inarguably, we are living in the world where science and technology drives
crucial developments and changes. Innovations in science and technology
directly translated into the innovations in our living. Examples of these
innovations are too numerous to cite here. However, practices of science and
technology are not emerging or advancing by itself. These are socially
embedded enterprises. Advances are made in a social context, and actual
innovations are implemented in a social context.
Maintaining and extending this perspective, this course is designed to
increase phenomenological understanding of how social, political and cultural
values affect scientific research and technological innovations, and how these
research and innovations, in turn, affect society, politics and culture.
